She married William Andrew Walker at the young age of seventeen on November 13, 1948 and has always lived in Duncan. Bill and Wilma were married 41 years until his death November 25, 1989. She married Glenn Gill five years later. They did a lot of traveling with trips to Paris, France and Costa Rica seeing things she’d only read about. Wilma attended school in Comanche. She worked as a bookkeeper, secretary and office manager of Gill Electric Incorporated retiring in 1994. She is an active member of Eastside Church of Christ, Duncan Regional Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers, accumulating over 3500 hours , Oklahoma Blood Institute Volunteer, Cowtown 49’ers and served as president of Duncan Business and Professional Women’s Association three terms. She enjoyed water aerobics at the Simmon’s Center, yard work, cooking, family parties, movies, travel and playing cards with a group of eight friends every Tuesday afternoon. She once won $500.00 in a chili cookoff and her favorite dessert was fried peaches from Jonny’s. She enjoyed a five year relationship with her good friend and next door neighbor, Don Adkins, until he passed four months ago. Wilma always said she’d been blessed with a good life, good health and much happiness. She called anything over three score and ten “bonus years”.
