Sarah Ida Mae Conley Glover, 89, a long-time former Duncan resident, died on May 10, 2018, in Oklahoma City following a long illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 15 at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday, May 14 from 4:00pm to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Ida was born in Poteau, OK, and attended McLish High School near Hardin City, OK, south of Ada. Ida was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church for over 50 years and retired from Halliburton after working in both the safety and inspection departments. Ida was an avid gardener, expert seamstress, and loved to go fishing. Ida and Floyd moved to Duncan in 1957 and lived on 42nd street for over 40 years.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents, Joseph and Versa Brock Conley, brothers James Conley and Julius Conley and her sister Mary Thompson.
She is survived by her brother Joseph Conley, Jr and his wife Jessie, her sister-in-law Ruth Conley, and brother-in-law Carl Thompson. Her children, Cynthia and Richard Henderson of Edmond, OK, Don Glover and Lena Hurley (fiancé) of Duncan, and Walter and Diana Byford Glover of Katy, TX. Her grandchildren, Lauren Henderson Mains and husband Jeff Mains, Edmond, Brock Henderson, Edmond, OK, Robin Glover, Katy, TX, Colin and Effie Nicholson Glover, Chesapeake, VA, Jonathan and Tracy Norsworthy Glover, Katy, TX, Shannon Glover Robinette and husband Jim Robinette, Irvine, CA, Alex Glover, Oklahoma City, Chris and Carly Evensen Glover, Bay Cliff, TX, and ten great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brock Henderson, Jeff Mains, Colin Glover, Jonathan Glover, and Alex Glover. Honorary pallbearers will be Robin Glover and Jim Robinette.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to Veterans First Fund c/o OSDAR 133 24th ave. Suite 222 Norman, OK 73069.
