Ronald (Ronnie) DeWayne Booth, Sr.

Ronald (Ronnie) DeWayne Booth, Sr. passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the age of 73 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, July 22, 2019 at Don Grantham Funeral Chapel officiated by Elder Dennis Kreie. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends at Don Grantham Funeral Home Sunday July 21st 5:00 to 7:00PM.
Ronnie was born to John and Thelma Booth in Duncan, Oklahoma, on January 26, 1946. He attended Empire High School and graduated from there in 1964. That same year he married his first wife Lynda Morgan and they had one child together, Ronda.
Ronnie married Sandy Faulkner in 1973, and they had one son together, Ronald DeWayne Booth, Jr. (Boo). Sandy also had two sons, Kevin Faulkner and Craig Booth.
Ronnie served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He worked on the family farm and for Halliburton as a machinist before opening his own machine shop.
He was a foreman at George E. Failing Company in Enid, OK. From there he once again opened his own shop, this time in Marietta, OK. He was trained in manual lathes and numerically controlled lathes by the Loge and Shipley Company and was a certified manual N/C lathe operator trained by the Seiki Company.
In 1982, he moved his business to Elk City, Oklahoma where he and his family remained until 1988. Ronnie was an adventurer and loved to travel and live in various places which he did until 1991 when he returned to Duncan. He remained in Duncan until 2012 and then made his home at the end of his life at the Veteran’s Center in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Ronnie enjoyed country music, especially George Jones. He also enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes, as well as good conversation. He had an excellent sense of humor. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy, his parents, John and Thelma Booth and his sister Eva Stitch.
Ronnie is survived by his daughter Ronda Peters and her husband Dale; his son Ron (Boo) Booth and his wife Kayce; his five grandchildren, Casey Halligan and his wife Amber, Riley Peters, Tully Booth, Darby Booth and Atticus Booth; his two great-grandchildren, Cooper Halligan and Kyler Halligan; his brother Truman Booth and his wife RoJean; his sister, Edwina Booth; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Casey Halligan, Riley Peters, Tully Booth, Atticus Booth, his nephew Johnny Booth, great-nephews Chuck Brock, Mike Cave, John Mark Cave and cousin, whom he considered to be a grandson, Bryan Bradbury. Honorary Bearers are Jim Shults, Jackie Shults, LeRoy Shults and many other nephews and great-nephews.
The family asks that memorials be made to charity of choice.
