Marian Arlene "Dutch" Chapman, 88, of Duncan passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Country Club Care Nursing Home in Duncan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 11 at New Hope Baptist Church West with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, Oklahoma under the care of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Marian Arlene Chapman known by Dutch to her friends was born on December 9, 1931 in Elbert, Colorado to Roy Elmer Squires and Leora Fern (Gearhart) Squires. Dutch graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1949. She married Jack Chapman on August 20, 1950 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dutch would work as a Daycare Worker at Madill Day Care in Madill, Oklahoma and would retire in 1980. Dutch enjoyed sewing, cooking, travelling, taking care of family and friends and was very active at church and church activities. She was a member of the Kindred Community Widows and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West.
Dutch is survived by her children and their spouses; W. O. Chapman and his wife Debbie of Loco, Oklahoma, Brenda L Bartling and her husband Jack of Velma, Oklahoma; Ern L Chapman and his wife Pam of Iowa Park, Texas; daughter in law, Kathy Chapman of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Roy Stanley Squires and his wife Shelia of Shell Lake, Wisconsin; her sister, Gwendolyn Ferne Wilson of Brighton, Colorado; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Chapman; her parents, Roy and Leora Squires; and her great grandson, Wilson Bartling.
Pallbearers will be; Jason Bartling, B. J. Chapman, Zac Davis, Dylan Davis, Brett Matthesen, Jack Matthesen, Colt Matthesen, Rowdy Bartling, and Caison Chapman. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Traci Matthesen, Amy Davis, Jessica Segerstrom, LeAnn Chapman, Emily Matthesen, Abby Bartling, Hadley Bartling, Karli Davis and Molly Matthesen.
