Lawrence Charles Butkiewicz, 71, of Marlow passed away Tuesday September 24, 2019 at his home.
A Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 30 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery. Military Honors provided by the Stephens County Honor Guard. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.
Lawrence was born on August 12, 1948 in Delhi, New York to Walter J. and Virginia Evelyn Butkiewicz. He joined the US Army and while serving his country he found the love of his life Roswitha Maria Bleistein and they were married on December 22, 1983. She preceded him death in March 13, 2019.
He served as a Airborne Sensor Specialist, a Pershing Missile Crewman and a Lance Missile Crewman; earning the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation and the Army Achievement Medal with First Oak Leaf Cluster. After retiring from the US Army he went to work at the US Post Office retiring after 20 years. He attended Cameron University earning his Bachelor's of Science in Business.
Lawrance is survived by three children: Jasmin Cochran and husband William, Thomas Bleistein and wife Birgit and Sonja Lewis and husband Vincent; five grandchildren: Nicole Cochran, Madison Cochran, Tom Bleistein, Bradley Thompson and Jordan Wells and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.
