Floyd Wiggins of Velma, joined his heavenly Father on January 30, 2020. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 4th at 2:00 PM at Velma Assembly of God in Velma, Oklahoma with Pastor Harold Ray Metheny officiating. Interment will follow at New Velma Cemetery under the care of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
Floyd was born March 19, 1934 in Seminole, OK to Allan and Minnie Walker Wiggins. Floyd attended Fox High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He married the love of his life, Joyce Stephenson on November 22, 1956.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his daughter Carla Stapp of the home; daughter Teddie (Bennie) Barnett of Duncan; daughter Tammy (Mike) Pierce of Velma; grandchildren Kenny Stapp, Christy Rahlf (Ryan), Jason Barnett, Michael Pierce, Amber Pierce and Lori Gambill (Tony); great grandchildren Joyce Stapp, Jaxon Barnett, Angela Barnett, Brooklyn Gambill, Emma Gambill, Klare Gambill and Brycen Barnett; a brother Jimmy Wiggins of Carthage, TX; a sister Betty (Earl) Perry of Lexington, OK; sister Rosie East of Elmore City, OK; sister Helen Welner of Lexington, OK; and sister Pat Cheek of Purcell, OK. and many nieces and nephews.
Floyd was known as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a long time member of Velma Assembly of God and loved to sing God’s hymns. He worked in the oilfield for various oilfield service companies including Welltech, Christian Well Service and Lindsey Well Service. After leaving the oilfield, Floyd drove trucks for Stephenson Oil Company. Upon retirement, Floyd began farming. He loved his cattle and one of his biggest joys was taking his grandkids to see the cows. He enjoyed his family and his church. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
