Floy Berniece Andrews, 93, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Country Club Care in Duncan, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 3rd at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan with Worship Pastor David Leu of First Baptist Church of Ardmore, OK, officiating and under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Floy Berniece Andrews was born on February 24, 1926 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Martin V Buck and Lela L (Whitson) Buck. Berniece attended Ardmore schools and graduated from Yazoo City High School in Yazoo City, Mississippi in 1944. Berniece worked at Halliburton, as a retail clerk for Murray-Litch Drug and Lottie K Dress Shop and later as a Restaurant hostess and caregiver before retiring in 1980. She married Leo Andrews on October 20, 1946 in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Berniece was a member of the Lawton VFW Post 5263, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Duncan, Oklahoma and truly loved her Lord and Savior. Berniece was an avid reader, and wrote many letters and cards she sent to all her family and friends on all occasions. She loved having conversations with everyone she met. Most of all she enjoyed having special visits from her granddaughter, Jenna, and then later from Jenna’s family. Berniece’s great-grandson, Blake, was her special guy.
Berniece is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Leo Andrews; her brother, Stanley Eugene Buck; her parents Martin and Lela Buck; and her granddaughter; Kimberly Dawn Garrett. She is survived by her daughter and her spouse; Diana Kay and Bill Hedrick of Duncan, Oklahoma; her granddaughter, Jenna Foster and her husband Rand Foster of Edmond, Oklahoma and her great-grandson, Blake Foster.
The family would like to thank the staff at Country Club Care especially Marty for her longtime friendship, Rosie and Michelle for their kindness and dedicated care, also, Drs. Doug Proctor, Stacie Elfrink, Eugenio Najera, and to her longtime friend, Betty Thompson who shared the ups and downs of their long journeys.
