Earl David Wright went home to be with the Lord on February 24th, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1st, 2019, at 1:30 PM at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Lee Lehew officiating and assisted by Chris Wright. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by Stephens County Honor Guard. Visitation will begin Thursday.
Earl was born in Coalgate Ok. to Jacob E. and Lotawanna Wright. He graduated from High school in Vinita Ok. in 1952. He joined the Army in 1953. Earl married Yvonne Loy Willis on March 19th, 1955 in Sherman, Tx. While serving in the Army he lived in El Paso where his first son David was born. He also lived in Germany for 4 years. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1961 and moved to Lawton Ok. where Barbara and Darrell were born. He founded The Wright Donuts, Inc. in 1963 in Lawton and eventually moved to Duncan, OK where he continued to operate his business in 1974. Earl and Yvonne had 3 children, 10 Grand Children, and 12 Great Grand Children.
Earl and Yvonne also spent 4 years in Panama and 4 years in Seoul, Korea as a Bakery manager for AAFES. After retirement in 1999 Earl and Yvonne resided in Duncan until the death of his beloved Yvonne in 2006. Earl married Clayrene Vincent Leute in Branson Missouri on November 9th, 2007 and they resided in Sherman. Clayrene passed away in 2014. Earl enjoyed Square dance calling, ballroom dancing, golf, pool, and spending time with family and friends.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents Jacob E, and Lotawanna, spouses Yvonne and Clayrene, son David, brothers William and Harold, and sisters Claire and Rosemary. Earl is survived by his son Darrell of San Antonio, daughter Barbara Tweedy of Colorado, Grandchildren Neil Wright, Brandon Wright, Kevin Wright, Regan Clements, Cloie Sandlin, Kassie Sandlin, Siarra Tweedy, Dustin Wright, Jacob Wright, and Gabrielle Wright, Noah Harthcock, Ryan Harthcock, Ray Harthcock, and Amber Gallegos, brother Chris Wright, sisters Gayle Wilson and Anice Putty, and numerous great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and Friends.
Pallbearers will be the nephews and grandson of Earl Wright; Mike Wright, Cary Don Wright, Robbie Putty, Billy Wright, Timmy Corbett and grandson; Jacob Wright.
