Earl Wesley Wilson, 84, of Loco, OK passed away on the 22nd of December 2017 in Oklahoma City after a brief illness.
Memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 at 4pm at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, OK. with Davis Loafman officiating. Services are under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
He was born on May 8th, 1933 in Loco, OK to William Wesley and Addie Lee Wilson. He grew up and attended school in Loco before joining the Army and serving in France in the period after WWII. He always wanted to return to France but passed before he could make that trip.
In 1960, he married Peggy Lou Brock and moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where he joined the police force. He began his law enforcement career as a patrolman, and achieved the rank of detective before leaving to join the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Earl loved his adopted state of Texas, and thereafter considered himself a Texan for the rest of his life. He retired from the TABC with the rank of Lieutenant, and held the honorary status of Special Agent after retirement. He loved to play his guitar and sing, especially for his children and then his grandchildren. He loved all things Texas, and had a special passion for France.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 5 brothers, Lewis, Leron, Ben, Rex and Johnny and his sister Betty Jo.
He is survived by 2 children, Wesley and wife Michelle, and Karen Clark, both of Comanche, 3 sisters; Helen Allen, Loretta McCalmant, and Dorothy Wilson, and 3 grandchildren, Ashley and Walker Wilson, and Michael Clark.
