Dennis James Ussery, 57, of Duncan, was carried by the angels into the arms of our Lord December 25, 2019, after a long-fought battle with heart disease. Cremation services have been entrusted to Grantham Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Monday, December 30, at 12:00 noon at Immanual Baptist Church in Duncan.
Dennis was born April 3, 1962 in O'Donnell, TX to Roland and Marvine (Stallons) Ussery. He graduated from Anson High School in Anson, TX in 1981. He held jobs in a varitey of fields over the years, most of which were in the fast food industry. On October 6, 1986, he married Angela Yarbrough in Wichita Falls, TX. They have two children, Jamie Ussery and Colton Ussery. Dennis became a surrogate father to several young people over the last few years, who lovingly referred to him as Pops, Ol' Man, and Daddy Stegosaurus. To these young folks he gave guidance, advice, encouragement and love. And they came to respect and love Dennis very much and were so grateful for what he did for them.
Dennis was welcomed home to Heaven by his grandparents, Jim and Marie Ussery and Marvin and Hazel Stallons, and his baby brother, Darrell.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Angie, and children, Jamie and Colton, of the home; his parents, Roland and Marvine Ussery, of Mannford; a sister, Denise Henderson, and her husband, Les, also of Mannford; a niece, Nicole Stansill and her husband, Ty, of Tulsa; a nephew, Ian Henderson and his wife, Madison, of Lavaca, AR; Aunts and Uncles Dale and Jeanette Ussery of Seminole, TX, Forrest and Marilyn Ussery of Kearns, UT, Dan and Grace Wilson of Velma, and Don and Judy Stallons of Marlow.
Dennis was loved dearly by many and will be missed greatly. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
