Coy married the love of her life, Kermit Pemberton, on August 27, 1938, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They honeymooned in Sulpher Park and setup home in the Duncan area. Coy was a cherished wife, homemaker, and mother. She and her husband joyfully raised two sons and two daughters and she enjoyed her family more than anything. Coy was well known for her tacos. Her friends and family couldn’t pass up a taco cookout at Coy’s. She loved to work in her yard and make it beautiful. She loved her church family, especially the lady’s group who always enjoyed her homemade cobblers. Coy loved to travel all of her life. Starting in the early years to Lake Texhoma when the kids were young to traveling all over the country and visiting all fifty states. Kermit and Coy celebrated their 50th anniversary in the 50th state,Hawaii, with their best friends of more than 40 years. One of Coy’s most beloved places was the beach. She and Kermit took their kids, then their grandkids, there as often as possible and stayed as long as five months on one trip.
Coy made her home inviting to all which was evident by the many friends, family, and neighbors who would stop by at any time for a cup of coffee and a visit.
