Clifton Dalis Simms, 87, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Thursday November 8, 2018 in Lawton, Oklahoma. A celebration of life service will be held by the family at the Freedom Biker Church on Sunday November 11th at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Billy Morgan officiating. Clifton Dalis Simms was born on October 13, 1931 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to Walter Thomas Sims and Ethel M. Sims (Rogers). Clifton was a graduate of Pampa High Schoolin Pampa, Texas. After high school, Clifton served honorably with the United States Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from the Army Clifton went to work as a machinist with Halliburton for 31 years before retiring. He then started his own business, Simms Refrigeration and Air Repair in 1987. He married Elizabeth Cromar Burns on April 18, 1984 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Clifton enjoyed solving Air Conditioning problems, being a handyman around the home and having his dog Chance walking HIM. Clifton is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Elizabeth C. Simms of the home; his sons and their spouses; Danny Simms and his wife Jane of Austin, Texas, Tony Simms and his wife Shawn of Duncan, Oklahoma, Kelly Simms and his wife Denise of Duncan, Oklahoma; his daughter and her spouse, Melinda Kinnaird and her husband Ron of Duncan, Oklahoma; his stepdaughter and her spouse, Karen Elizabeth Cannell-Smith and her husband Tony of Norwich England; his grandchildren, Cody Simms, Adam Simms, Lindsey Long, Clifton Simms, Kelly Bean, Kenzy Kinnaird, Kale Kinnaird, Elizabeth Cannell-Smith, Alexandria Cannell-Smith, Thomas Cannell-Smith, William Cannell-Smith; his great grandchildren Parker Long, Louisa and George and his beloved dog and best friend Chance. Clifton was preceded in death by his two brothers and his parents. Cremation arrangements have been provided by Don Grantham Funeral Home.
