Bettie June Davis, 92, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Duncan, Oklahoma.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Duncan Cemetery with Retired Pastor Jerry Black of Moore, Oklahoma officiating. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Bettie June Davis was born on March 26, 1927 in Key, Texas to Robert (Bob) and Mary Elna (Newsom) Childress. She was raised in Wright City, Texas, and attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas. She married the love of her life Duane Davis on June 8, 1947 in Longview, Texas spending 59 glorious years together before his passing in 2006. Bettie was a homemaker, worked as a realtor and was co-owner of Duane Davis Real Estate. Bettie loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her animals that were strays that found their way to her loving home and never left. She enjoyed the neighborhood children that she mothered like her own, and visiting with friends. She never once met a stranger and made a lasting impression on all who met her due to her loving nature and sweet spirit. She enjoyed shopping for antiques with her husband and decorating her home.
Bettie June Davis is survived by her children; Glenn Davis, Derrel Davis, Doug Davis, Dana Davis Harwell, Dodd Davis; her grandchildren, Natalie Davis Siegfried, Molly Davis, Chad Davis Harwell, Reed Davis, Chelsea June Harwell, Olivia Davis, Roman Davis; her great grandchildren, Ethan Siegfried and Emma Siegfried.
She was preceded in death by her husband Duane Davis; her grandson, Bronson Davis; her brother, Bobby Reed Childress; her sister, Katherine Childress Webster and her parents, Robert and Mary Childress.
Pallbearers will be Doug Davis, Dodd Davis, Chad Davis Harwell, Reed Davis, Jerry Harwell, and Levi Siegfried. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Davis, Derrel Davis, Dana Davis Harwell, Natalie Davis Siegfried, Chelsea June Harwell, Olivia Davis, Roman Davis, Molly Davis, Ethan Siegfried, Emma Siegfried, Jenifer Davis, David Gregston, Wes Sullivan, Ed McGill, Carey Perkins, Gloria Marlowe, Dina Atnip and Cecilia Richey.
