Bettie Sharline Crowson, 79, of Duncan, Oklahoma entered her new home in Gloryland on April 19, 2020 seven days before her 80th birthday.
Born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on April 26, 1940 to Fred and Odessa Crowson. She graduated from Velma-Alma High School in 1958 and raised five children mostly as a single mother in Velma.
When she was younger, she played the piano and accordion in church alongside her father. She worked extremely hard at many different positions in and around the Duncan area to provide for her family.
She loved her children, but spending time with her grandchildren was the highlight of her life. She enjoyed taking trips with them, and attending sporting events in which they participated. Of course, she thought they were the best and brightest. Time spent at Nanny’s visiting, and eating her brownies or special banana cake was always special.
Loved ones that cleared her path to enter the golden gates were her parents and her older brother, Carl Crowson. Loved ones that will miss her so very much are her children, Debbie and Rocky Stricklin, James and Teresa Wiggins, David Wiggins, Eddie Crowson, and Freddie and Leesha Crowson; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Tina, Nana and Alessandro Dickerson/Sanchez; Cheryl and Chris Woods; BJ, Carrie, Riley, Reese, and Michael Dickerson; Jamie, Wayne, JW and Katie Barton; Derick, Elizabeth and Noah Stricklin; Marissa Crowson, Colby Crowson, Nathan and Kalyee Crowson, Caleb Crowson, Caden Crowson, and Jacob Crowson as well as her sister in law, Margaret Crowson along with her nieces, nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to your nearest food bank in her name.
Grave side services will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 11:00 AM at New Velma Cemetery in Velma, Oklahoma. Pastor Joe Ligon will be officiating. Funeral services and arrangements are under the care of Don Grantham Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.granthatfuneralhomes.com.
