She graduated salutatorian from Comanche High School in 1968 active in speech and theatre going on to work professionally first as a dental assistant and later a legal secretary.
Anita’s adventurous spirit led her to accept job offers from law offices in cities including Amarillo, Phoenix, and Atlanta before eventually returning to her hometown and retirement. She greatly enjoyed bowling from an early age and even coached youth bowling for a time. Her true joy came from spending as much time as she could in the presence of her loving family telling stories and playing card games or dominos.
Anita is survived by her sister, Patti Lorraine Bailey and her husband Larry Don of Duncan, Oklahoma, her son, Trenton Lee Maddox and his wife Emily of Anaheim, California, and her daughter Tori Lorraine Maddox of Lawton, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Larry and Kitty Allmon and her older brother Ronald Lee.
Her greatest pride was her six grandchildren. Trenton gave her three granddaughters: Kaitlyn Jean, student at Bowling Green University, Kitty May, and Sadie Lorraine. Tori gave her two grandsons: Cameron Gage Maddox, student at Oklahoma Baptist University, Brendan Scott Maddox, and a granddaughter Zoe Rae Norton. If you spent time with her recently, she proudly showed you videos and photos of all six on her phone and tablet.
Her charisma and outgoing nature brought smiles to friends and strangers alike. She was a loving mother, sister, and daughter who leapt at every opportunity to cheer on her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
