Troy Tinney, 69 of Duncan, OK passed away on Friday, May 12th at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Memorial services are pending at this time.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Troy was born April 7, 1948 in Sutton, West Virginia to Roy and Muriel (Turner) Tinney. He graduated from Sutton High School, and at the age of 17 joined the US Army. After doing his basic training in Ft. Knox Kentucky he was than sent to Germany and eventually deployed to Vietnam. He served two tours during the war and was recognized with honors after he returned. Troy was eventually sent to Central America as aTelecommunications Specialist and was stationed in his beloved Panama were he met his wife Martina Lopez. Troy married Martina on April 23, 1980 at Panama City, Panama. Troy spent the last few years of his military career in Ft. Still and was in charge of the telecommunications department. He retired in 1986 after 20 years of service to his country and followed his dream of owning his own business. He started Troy’s Sandblasting and Painting and it is still going strong today. Troy and Martina were active members of El Divino Salvador Iglesia Bautista Church in Duncan. Troy had a passion for fishing, grilling, swimming and was Corvette enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife Martina of the home. Four children; Rebecca Brock and husband Chad of Mt. Morris, PA, Rickey Tinney and wife Tanja of Oklahoma City, OK, Reina Arianne Tinney of Duncan and Terica Tinney of Mt. Morris, PA. Two brothers, Ralph Tinney of Fairmont, WV and Ernest Tinney of Marlow, OK. Three sisters Evelyn Tinney, Agatha Tinney and Brenda Tinney all of Sutton, WV. Five grandchildren, Brianna, Josh, Peyton, Shannon and the soon to be born Julian.
