Ronney Ray Koch, 84, of Duncan,OK went to be with our Heavenly Father Thursday, April 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Heitner officiating and Linda Heilman playing the piano. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive friendsat the funeral home Monday, April 17th, 5:30-7:00pm.
Ronney was born March 29, 1933 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Calvin John and Mamie (Margraf) Koch. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from South East Missouri State University and enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve. He then went to LSU to begin more studies and was a Chemistry teaching assistant there. He was drafted in March 1955 and served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. He was in the SAM Missile Division.
After serving his country, he worked for Reynolds Metals for a short time. He moved back to Oklahoma and obtained a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He worked for California Co. for a short time. While in Norman, he met Patricia Woody from Duncan. They married and made their home in Duncan where he worked for Halliburton Services for 39 years.
Ronney and Patsy were married for 56 years and two loving daughters were born to them. A son, Fred Paramore became part of the family by marriage.
Ronney was a Patentee in the field and had 28 issued patents. When he retired from Halliburton he started RKR Consulting Co., working for several oilfield related companies. He was a registered Professional Engineer, active in the Society of Petroleum Engineers and National Chemical Society.
Ronney was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where he served as elder, Sunday School teacher and other positions through the years.
He was a supporter of the National Rifle Association, National Wild Turkey Federation and Duncan Gun Club where he was an officer and board member for many years. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapshooting and animals.
Ronney is survived by his wife, Patsy Koch of the home; two daughters, Sally Koch and Carolyn Paramore and husband, Fred all of Duncan, OK; a cousin raised as a sibling, Kay Ancell and husband Clay of Vienna, VA; two precious dogs, Gracie and Indi; and a host of other family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Mamie Koch; and three sisters who died at birth.
Pallbearers will be Al Haws, Mike Jones, Wes Jones, Allen Phipps, Todd Sanner and Charles Totty.
Honorary bearers will be Fred Paramore II, Dr. Ronny M. Laquey, John C. Morris and A. Clay Ancell.
