Roger Dean Faulkenberry, 65, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Friday morning on September 29, 2017. Roger was born on December 6, 1951 in Tucson, Arizona to Jesse Rand Faulkenberry and Mildred Evelyn (Stewart) Faulkenberry. He was a graduate of Catalina High School in Tucson, Arizona in 1970 and went on to get his Bachelor degrees from the University of Arizona in 1975. Roger met the love of his life Gay Rawls in the Summer of 1974 and they were married in August 15, 1975 in Tucson, Arizona. He took his first job in Houston in 1975 as a head coach at two junior high schools. Roger and Gay moved to Duncan in 1980 where he changed professions and worked as a petroleum landman for Jack Smith Land Services. The next love of his life, Guy Christopher Faulkenberry, was born in 1984. After 3 years away from Oklahoma from 1994 -1997, living in New Mexico and Colorado; Roger and family relocated back to Duncan in 1997. He worked for Mack Energy Co in the Land Dept. for the next 20 years before retiring in June of this year. Roger was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, The Southern Oklahoma Association of Petroleum Landmen and the Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landmen. He enjoyed golf, gardening, watching football and rooting for his favorite teams Oklahoma State University and the University of Arizona. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Evelyn Faulkenberry. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gay Faulkenberry of the home; his son, Guy Christopher Faulkenberry of Norman, Oklahoma, his sister Norma Jean Walton of Tucson, Arizona, his in-laws Ed and Sally Rawls, brother in law Mark Rawls and wife Diana and sister in law Amy Rawls Miller as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Stephens County Humane Society, the Taylor LeNorman/McCasland Cancer Center at Duncan Regional Hospital and Chisholm Trail Hospice. A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
