Jesse Douglas Staton, 72, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at his home in Duncan.
Services will be 10:30am Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church West, Duncan, with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00pm at Norton Cemetery, a family cemetery, outside of Mannsville, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.
The family will visit with friends at the funeral home Monday, Aug. 7th from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
Doug was born Feb. 3, 1945 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to OllaBea and James Douglas Staton.
He graduated from Ravia High School and attended Murray State College. He was proud of his service in the United States Air Force.
He married Susie Cantrell Wood on June 13, 2009 in Marlow, Oklahoma.
Doug was employed with Texaco, retiring after 33 years of service. He attended New Hope Baptist Church West and was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Doug was a huge Dallas Cowboy football fan! He enjoyed guns and shooting.
His dog, Joe and his cats, Maddie and Fireball were very special to him, as well as his memories of fishing with his father, as a young boy.
Survivors include his wife, Susie Staton, of the home; his children, James Staton and spouse Rebecca of DeSoto, Texas, Michael Staton and spouse Stephanie of Plano, Texas and Charlene Thomas and spouse Judd of Red Oak, Texas; his step-children, Ann and Bobby Miller of Duncan and Gary and Kathy Wood of Oklahoma City; eleven grandchildren: Anthony Staton, Jessica Moore, Judd Thomas, Sawyer Staton, Oliver Staton, Tyler Miller, Clint Miller, Elizabeth Wood, Caroline Wood, Krysta Chavez and John Paul Chavez; his "Big Foot Hunting Buddies" nieces, Alyssa Bonds and Haley Bonds and nephew, JD Gdanski; and many other nieces, nephews and other family members; and of course, his pets, Joe, Maddie and Fireball.
Pallbearers will be Dale Cantrell, Gary Wood, Clint Miller, Tyler Miller. David Gdanski and Anthony Staton.
