James C. Luse, 87, longtime resident of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at Duncan Regional Hospital.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Duncan Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Full Military Honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, prior to the service from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
James was born May 27, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John and Lola (Bradford) Luse. He served his country honorably for 20 years in the United States Navy. After retiring from the Navy, James worked for the IBM Corp attached to Halliburton Services, in the data processing and computer department, retiring after 22 years.
James married Doris June Ramsey on April 4, 1950 and she preceded him in death on November 27, 1995.
James enjoyed woodworking, especially turning bowls and utensils. He could see the numbers and angles in his mind before any wood was cut.
James is survived by his son, Charles Luse and wife Lori of Meridian, MS; three grandchildren, Brad Luse and wife Lauren, Ashley Koen and husband Dexter and Jordan Jones; five great grandchildren: Samuel Luse, Jaxon Luse, Jennie Koen, Lila Koen and Aria Jones; and a special friend and caretaker, Peggy Cuddeeback.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lola Luse; his wife, Doris; a son, Mike Luse; and a granddaughter, Natalie Luse.
